Cuba Travel Restrictions Eased

Many Americans have dreamed of visiting Cuba with it's miles and miles of beaches, the best cigars in the world, and a country lost in time.   Most of my friends would like to visit Cuba, but unfortunately there is no way for Americans to travel to Cuba legitimately, without breaking the law.   Times are changing though as this week we saw the current Administration under the direction of Barack Obama open travel to Cuban-American Citizens.  This is great news, and the first step towards opening travel to all Americans.  Many Cubans can now be reunited with their families back in Cuba for the first time since the trave embargo was installed in the 1960's.  What does this mean?  Well, first and foremost it is a beginning for opening up better relations with our neighbor Cuba, and this is great news.  Cuba, so long a country looked down upon by the US Government for attempting to keep Soviet missiles on their territory, is finally going to become open for travel by Americans of Cuban descent, and the wounds between the two nations can begin to heal.  Obama also wants to open up communications with Cuba, in the form of sending US Communications companies over to set up shop, if the Cuban government agrees.

This is a big change in policy for the US gov't's stance on Cuba, and I believe it is a step in the right direction.  We've all know the history of our relations with Cuba, and there is a chance now to better those relations.  I, myself have always wanted to visit Cuba and lay on the tropical white sandy beaches with a tropical drink and a Cuban cigar near the pristine waters.  I am interested in hearing the stories of Cuban-American travellers who decide to make the journey back to their home countries to visit family, or just to go on vacation and find their home roots.

I am hoping that with these travel restrictions to Cuba being lifted, that soon all Americans will be able to travel to Cuba without worrying about the penaltys of law.  This may come sooner than we think as I see this as a first-step to opening up better and better relationsships with Cuban businesses and the Cuban government.  I am interested in hearing Cuba Travel stories from Cuban Americans who plan to visit Cuba soon.  Please comment below.
